Getting There

The main route is by RORO ferry from Lucena City on the Quezon Province coast of Luzon. Ferries cross to Balanacan port in northern Marinduque; the crossing takes roughly two to three hours depending on the service. Lucena is about two to three hours from Manila by bus — buses leave from the Araneta Center in Cubao and drop at the Dalahican port area. Ferries run several times daily and are reliable in calm weather, though services can be disrupted during typhoons.

A second ferry route connects Pinamalayan in Oriental Mindoro to the town of Gasan on Marinduque's western coast, useful if you are coming from Mindoro. There is no airport on Marinduque. Once on the island, jeepneys connect the main towns, and motorbikes or tricycles are available for hire in Boac.
