Negros has beaches on every coast, from fine white sand to mangrove-fringed shores. The standout is Sugar Beach near Sipalay, a stretch of powdery white sand backed by small resorts where the pizza at Takatuka is reason enough to visit. Punta Ballo, just southeast of Sipalay, is a long white strip popular with divers -- Artistic Diving and Easy Diving both run trips into the Sulu Sea. On the northern coast, Escalante has Bonista Beach Resort and nearby Jomabo Island with good kayaking. Lakawon Island off Cadiz is another favourite, and down on the Negros Oriental side, the beaches near Dauin offer superb reef snorkelling with Apo Island a short boat ride away.
