Kabankalan is about two hours south of Bacolod by bus or van along the national highway. Buses and vans depart frequently from Bacolod's Ceres terminal throughout the day. The journey passes through flat cane country for most of the route. There is no airport in Kabankalan — the nearest is in Bacolod (Silay International Airport). From Dumaguete in Negros Oriental, the city is accessible over the mountains via a scenic but rough road.
