Kabankalan's appeal lies mostly in the natural landscape surrounding it — the mountains to the east shelter extraordinary waterfalls and give access to the lower slopes of Mount Kanlaon. The city itself is quiet and functional, but it serves as a useful base for exploring the southern part of Negros Occidental.
