Sipalay is reached by road from Bacolod, the provincial capital of Negros Occidental. The journey takes three to four hours depending on the condition of the road and the type of transport. Regular bus services run from Bacolod's main terminal; the most comfortable option is one of the air-conditioned express coaches that make the run daily. Jeepneys and ordinary buses are cheaper and slower.
There is no airport in Sipalay. The nearest airports are in Bacolod (Bacolod-Silay Airport), which has flights from Manila and Cebu with multiple carriers, and in Dumaguete to the south, which is closer to the diving areas around Punta Ballo. Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines serve both cities from Manila.
From Dumaguete, it is possible to reach Sipalay by bus or van around the southern tip of Negros — a scenic route that takes about three hours. If you are combining Sipalay with Apo Island or the dive sites around Dauin, this southern approach makes good geographic sense.
