Sipalay is all about the water. The coastline has over 40 identified dive sites, from World War II wrecks to pristine coral walls, making it one of the best diving destinations on Negros. Beginners can start at the shallower house reefs, while experienced divers will want to hit the deeper sites.
Some of the standout dive sites include SS Panay, a well-preserved World War II warship torpedoed by the Japanese in 1942, with gas masks still visible in the stock rooms. MS Jojo is an intact 1980s freighter teeming with lionfish. Sunken Island is a favourite for its table corals and abundant fish life. Marco Polo and Da West offer negative-entry dives to spectacular reefs where sharks and barracuda pass through. For wall diving, Mystery Wall drops from 35 to 70 metres with large turtles, and Eva's Point is a sheer drop from 4 to 33 metres.
Beyond diving, the Malinab Lagoon and upper Sipalay River make for good day excursions, and the caves in the Mambaroto and Maricalum areas offer spelunking opportunities. The area around Campomanes Bay is excellent for kayaking and jet skiing, with calm waters sheltered by the bay's natural shape.
