Lucena is a compact city and most points of interest are reachable on foot from the city centre. For longer distances, tricycles (motorbike-and-sidecar combos) are the workhorse of local transport — hail one anywhere and negotiate the fare before boarding. Short trips within the centre cost around ₱15–25.
Jeepneys run fixed routes across the city and out to the port district at Dalahican. They're cheap (₱10–15 for most routes) but routes can be confusing for first-time visitors. Ask locals or your accommodation which jeepney goes where you're headed.
Multicabs (small open-sided minivans) operate some routes and are a step up in comfort from jeepneys.
The Grand Central Terminal on Diversion Road is the hub for intercity buses and vans heading to Manila, the Bicol region, and other Quezon Province towns. Tricycles and jeepneys connect the terminal to the city centre, about 2km away.
