Getting Around

Within Quezon City, the MRT Line 3 is the fastest way to move north-south, connecting the Quezon Memorial Circle (North Avenue station) with Cubao (Araneta Center-Cubao station) and the rest of Metro Manila. The line can be brutally crowded during peak hours — early mornings and late afternoons — but at other times it is fast and cheap.

Jeepneys cover the routes the MRT does not, including the main corridors like Katipunan, Commonwealth Avenue, and Quezon Avenue. Routes are marked on the jeepney itself; ask a local if uncertain. The P-UV (modern jeepney) routes are gradually replacing the old jeepneys and are easier to navigate.

Grab is reliable throughout QC and is the easiest option for point-to-point trips, especially in the evening or for destinations not near the MRT. Tricycles serve the side streets and smaller barangays — agree on a fare before getting in.

Traffic is a serious issue, especially along EDSA and Commonwealth Avenue during rush hours. Build extra time into any appointment that requires crossing the city by road.
