Beaches

Dammam sits on the Arabian Gulf and has several beaches along and near the Corniche. The water is warm, shallow, and calm most of the year.

Half Moon Bay, about 25 km south of the city centre near Al-Khobar, is the most popular beach destination — a protected crescent of white sand with clear turquoise water, an artificial reef popular with divers, and a small amusement park. It is very busy on weekends and holidays. Coral Island (Al-Marjan), connected to the city by a causeway, is a smaller artificial island with sandy beaches, a fishing pier, a lighthouse, and parkland. Al-Aziziyah Beach along the Corniche is the most accessible urban beach, popular with families in the evenings. Dress modestly at all beach locations.
