Getting There

King Fahd International Airport (KFIA) is the main gateway to the region, located about 30 km northwest of central Dammam. It is one of the largest airports in the world by area and handles flights from Europe, Asia, Africa, and other Gulf states. Saudia and a range of international carriers serve it. The airport is also accessible from Al-Khobar and Dhahran, which together with Dammam form a single urban area.

By rail, the Saudi Railway Organization (SAR) runs services from Riyadh to Dammam (about 4 hours) via Hofuf. This is a practical and comfortable way to arrive from the capital. By road, the Dammam–Riyadh highway is a multi-lane expressway about 400 km long.

Within the conurbation, taxis and ride-sharing apps (Uber, Careem) are the practical way to move between Dammam, Al-Khobar, and Dhahran.
