Jubail Wildlife Sanctuary

The Jubail Wildlife Sanctuary protects a stretch of the Arabian Gulf coastline that remains one of the healthiest marine habitats in the region. Dugongs graze the seagrass beds offshore, sea turtles nest on the beaches, and the shallow mudflats attract large flocks of flamingos and wading birds during migration seasons. The sanctuary is managed by the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu and covers both marine and coastal habitats. Visits require coordination through the Royal Commission, but the birdwatching along the sanctuary's edge is accessible and rewarding, especially between October and March when migratory species are present.
