Jubail rewards curiosity. The industrial scale of the city is itself a sight — petrochemical plants stretching to the horizon, the port handling supertankers, and a planned urban grid that did not exist fifty years ago. But there is also real nature here: a mangrove reserve, a wildlife sanctuary with flamingos and dugongs, and an ancient church that predates Islam by centuries.
