Singapore's Changi Airport (SIN) is consistently rated among the best airports in the world and is one of Asia's major hubs. Almost every major airline flies there. Budget carriers including Scoot, AirAsia, and Jetstar connect Singapore to dozens of regional destinations, making it easy to arrive from or continue to elsewhere in Southeast Asia cheaply.
Changi has four main passenger terminals. From the airport, the MRT East-West Line (Changi Airport branch) runs directly into the city — about 40 minutes to City Hall, costing under S$2. Taxis and Grab (Singapore's dominant ride-hailing app) cost S$20–35 to most central areas, plus a S$5 airport surcharge.
By land from Malaysia. Two causeway crossings link Singapore to Johor Bahru in Malaysia. The Woodlands checkpoint in the north handles most road and rail traffic; the Tuas Second Link in the west is less busy. Buses run frequently from JB's Larkin Terminal and from Kuala Lumpur's TBS bus station. Singapore's rail connection to Malaysia terminates at Woodlands Train Checkpoint — there is no longer a train that runs all the way into Singapore's city centre.
By sea. Ferries connect Singapore to the Indonesian islands of Batam and Bintan, departing from HarbourFront and Tanah Merah Ferry Terminals. These are popular weekend escapes and useful connections if you are travelling through the Riau Archipelago.
Visas. Citizens of most Western countries, ASEAN nations, and many others enter visa-free for 30 or 90 days. Check the current list before travel. All arrivals must complete the SG Arrival Card (SGAC) online within three days before entry — it is free and takes a few minutes. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your departure date.
