Mokpo Modern History Museum is the city's most important built reminder of the early 20th century. Its main hall was the Japanese consulate, and the exhibits use the building to tell the story of Mokpo's growth, occupation, resistance, and port life.
The architecture is part of the visit. Walk the surrounding streets afterward, where old commercial buildings, hillside lanes, and newer cafes sit close together.
