Changgyeonggung is one of Seoul's Joseon royal palaces, originally built as a Goryeo-era summer palace and later used by the Joseon court. Unlike the city's better-known palaces, its layout runs east-west, and the grounds connect naturally with nearby Changdeokgung and Jongmyo Shrine. It is a strong stop for a palace-focused walk through central Seoul.
