Tapgol Pagoda Park is a small historic park just east of Jongmyo Shrine, best known for the ten-storey stone pagoda protected inside its glass pavilion. The park also has a large traditional pavilion and memorials connected with Korea's independence movement.
It works well as a short stop while walking between Insa-dong, Jongno, and Myeongdong. The park is compact, but the pagoda and its political history give it more interest than an ordinary city square.
