Suwon is well connected to Seoul. The fastest option is the KTX or ITX-Saemaeul intercity trains from Seoul Station to Suwon Station (about 30–40 minutes). Regular suburban trains (Korail Line 1) also connect Seoul's main stations to Suwon in about 50 minutes to 1 hour. The subway Metro Line 1 extends to Suwon Station and is the cheapest option, taking about 65–80 minutes from central Seoul depending on departure point.
From Incheon International Airport, the AREX airport rail express connects to Seoul Station, then transfer to the KTX or Line 1 to Suwon. Total travel time is about 90 minutes. Suwon is also connected to other Gyeonggi cities by bus from the Suwon Bus Terminal, making it a practical hub for exploring the province around Seoul.
