The bay itself is small enough to walk end to end in twenty minutes. For excursions — to Pottuvil Point, Crocodile Rock, Kumana National Park, or Muhudu Maha Vihara — three-wheelers are the main option. Drivers at the bay know all the surf breaks and wildlife spots and will negotiate a day rate for longer trips.
Motorbike rental is available and worth considering if you plan to explore independently. The roads around the bay are simple enough that even cautious riders manage. Bicycles are available from some guesthouses for shorter distances.
