Haththikuchchi is located about 3.5 kilometres from the Mahagalkadawala junction on the A28 Padeniya–Anuradhapura road. The nearest town of any size is Galgamuwa, roughly 10 kilometres away, and Kurunegala — the district capital — is about 40 kilometres to the south.
There is no reliable public transport to the site itself. Visitors typically hire a three-wheeler from Galgamuwa or arrange a car from Kurunegala or Dambulla. The site is usually visited as part of a circuit through the North Central Province, combined with nearby sites such as Anuradhapura and Ritigala. A four-wheel drive vehicle is useful if the access tracks are muddy after rain.
