Fantasy Tiehua is the redeveloped old Taitung station area, now used for markets, creative shops, casual performances, and evening wandering. It is not a grand arts district, but it gives the city centre a sociable focal point after dark.
The best way to use it is loosely: walk through before or after dinner, browse the small shops, and check whether anything is happening on the outdoor stages or lawns.
