Karon is about 45 minutes by taxi from Phuket International Airport; agree on a fixed price before getting in. Songthaews (shared minibuses) run along the main roads connecting Patong, Karon, and Kata and are the cheapest option for moving between beaches — flag one down on the main road. Tuk-tuks are available but expensive for longer trips. There is no metered taxi system, so negotiating prices in advance is essential.
Karon can also be reached from Phuket Town by songthaew along the Route 4028.
