The waterfront promenade along the Krabi River is the social heart of the town. The path stretches along the southern edge of the river mouth, where longtail boats tie up alongside tour operator desks, and mangroves line the opposite bank. At dusk the karst peaks to the east catch the last light and turn briefly orange.
The promenade hosts a small walking street market on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings — stalls selling street food, handicrafts, and fresh fruit. During the day it's quieter, with fishermen working their boats and monks in orange robes walking the path to the temple. It's the part of Krabi that feels most like a real town rather than a transit hub, and worth an hour's wander at any time of day.
