The beachside restaurants at the southern end of Surin Beach are among the best-value seafood spots on this stretch of Phuket's coast — grilled fish, crab curry, and fresh prawns at prices well below what the same ingredients would cost in Patong or Kata. Eat at the tables set up under the casuarinas in the late afternoon and you'll have one of the better beach dining experiences on the island. The road running north from Surin toward Kamala has a strip of local Thai restaurants serving authentic Phuket-style cooking — spicier and less sweet than the tourist versions found further south.
