Songkhla is a compact city and the old town is walkable. Songthaews (shared pickup trucks) run fixed routes through the city and are the most common way to get around. Tuk-tuks and motorcycle taxis are available for shorter trips. Hat Yai, the commercial hub of the region, is 25 km to the west and easily reached by shared taxi or bus.
