Wat Phai Lom sits on the west bank of the river, almost directly opposite the cathedral. It is one of the older temples in town, founded in the early Ayutthaya period and rebuilt several times since. The current ordination hall is from the late nineteenth century, with painted murals on the inside walls depicting scenes from the Ramakien and from local history.
The temple is a quiet stop on the riverside walk and a useful contrast with the Catholic cathedral across the water. Open daylight hours; no entrance fee.
