Nong Prachak Lake

Udon Thani's lakeside promenade with joggers and street food

The large lake in the northwestern part of the city is known locally as Nong Prachak, named after the founder of Udon Thani. The water is ringed with flowering plants and a broad promenade that fills up in the late afternoon with joggers, cyclists, and families eating from the street-food stalls that set up along the banks. It is the most pleasant corner of central Udon Thani and the obvious place to end a day.
