Nonthaburi itself is often visited as a day trip from Bangkok. If you are based here, the most obvious excursion is Ko Kret (see Things to Do), which merits a half-day of its own. Bangkok is 20 km south and reachable in around 45 minutes by Chao Phraya Express Boat.
