When to Go

The cool season from November to February is the most comfortable time to visit. From April to June the province celebrates its famous fruit harvest with the Nonthaburi Fruits and Fairs fair, held in front of the old city hall, where local durian, mangosteen, and mango are sold alongside flowers and plants.

April also brings the Mon Songkran Festival on Ko Kret, held one week after the national Songkran date (April 13), with a traditional Mon procession and musical performances. November is the time for the Tham Bun Tak Bat Phra Roi Paet ceremony in Amphoe Bang Kruai — a long-running riverside tradition in which monks from multiple temples along Khlong Bangkok Noi receive offerings simultaneously by boat.
