Wat Thai Wattanaram, also known as Wat Thai Yai, is one of Mae Sot's clearest expressions of border culture. The temple has Burmese and Shan influences, with bright decoration, a large reclining Buddha, and details that feel quite different from many central Thai temples.
It sits on the road toward the border, so it pairs easily with Rim Moei Market and the Friendship Bridge.
