Wat Phaya Phu is one of Nan's older temples, traditionally dated to the reign of Phaya Phu Kheng roughly six centuries ago. Behind the vihara stands a large chedi, and the temple preserves ancient Buddha images and carved doors decorated with guardian figures. It is close enough to Nan's central sights to include on a temple walk with Wat Phumin and the Nan National Museum.
