Wat Phra That Khao Noi sits on a hill just west of Nan, above the flat valley floor. The temple buildings are modest, but the viewpoint beside the standing Buddha is the place to see how compact the town is, with the river and fields spreading out below.
It is especially good near sunset, when the heat drops and the mountains begin to show behind the valley haze.
