Chumphon's eating scene is mostly Thai and Thai-Chinese, aimed at locals rather than tourists — noodle shops, seafood restaurants, and street food stalls around the market and the main roads through town. Chua Khui Ki, on Saladaeng Road, is a long-running Thai-Chinese kitchen typical of the old town's shophouse restaurants, and Chansom Cafe, inside the Chansom Chumphon Hotel, covers Thai, Chinese, and Western dishes for travellers who want something familiar before a ferry or overnight train.
For street food, the stalls along Phetchakasem Road and around Tha Tapho Road serve suki, grilled meats, and noodle soups late into the evening — useful given how many travellers pass through Chumphon on their way to or from a ferry.
