Khao Lom Muak is the steep limestone hill on the air-force base south of Prachuap Khiri Khan, with wide views over Ao Manao, the town, and the narrow strip of Thailand between the Gulf coast and Myanmar. The summit trail is short but demanding, with fixed ropes on the steeper upper section.
Access is limited, usually to long weekends and early morning hours, and everyone must descend before midday. Bring water, wear shoes with grip, and check current opening before making plans around the climb.
