Necmi Asfuroğlu Archaeological Museum

Roman streets, baths, and mosaics preserved beneath a hotel built on pillars.

The Necmi Asfuroğlu Archaeological Museum exists because builders found ancient Antioch under their hotel site. Instead of covering it, they raised the hotel on steel pillars and left the road paving, bathhouse remains, and Roman mosaics visible below.

It is a good place to understand Antakya as a buried city, not just a modern town with old monuments dotted around it.
