Paşabağ Valley, often called Monks Valley, has some of Cappadocia's most recognisable fairy chimneys: tall pale cones capped by darker basalt hats, grouped close enough that the landscape feels almost staged. Several of the formations were hollowed into small rooms and chapels, a reminder that this surreal geology was also a place of retreat.
It is easy to visit from Avanos, Çavuşin, or Göreme, and it pairs naturally with Zelve. The paths are short and not difficult, but the light changes the whole place: early morning and late afternoon make the stone warmer and the shapes sharper. In the middle of the day it can feel exposed, so bring water and expect tour buses.
