Nevşehir is the main transport gateway to Cappadocia. The central otogar (bus terminal) handles long-distance coaches from Istanbul (about 10 hours), Ankara (4 hours), Antalya, and most other Turkish cities. Several major bus companies operate on these routes. The nearby Kapadokya Airport (NAV) receives domestic flights from Istanbul and Ankara.
From the otogar, dolmuş minibuses run throughout the day to Göreme, Ürgüp, Avanos, and other Cappadocian villages. The dolmuş system is inexpensive and frequent enough during daylight hours. Taxis are available for direct connections, especially useful for airport transfers or evening arrivals.
