Most visitors pass through Nevşehir quickly on their way to the fairy chimneys and cave churches of central Cappadocia. The city does have its own points of interest: a hilltop fortress, a good archaeological museum, and an old quarter with a grand Ottoman-era mosque complex. For those spending a night here rather than in Göreme or Ürgüp, it is more than serviceable.
