The covered market area around the central bazaar district is where Nevşehir does its actual business, and it has a more authentic feel than the tourist-saturated markets of Göreme or Ürgüp. Pottery from nearby Avanos, Cappadocian wines, dried fruit and nuts, and local textiles are all available at prices aimed at the local population.
The bazaar is liveliest on market days (traditionally Tuesday and Friday, though this can vary) when farmers from the surrounding villages bring produce. It is a short walk from the central bus terminal.
