A short walk south-west of Uçhisar Castle, along the rim of Pigeon Valley, brings you to a series of cliff-edge viewpoints favoured by locals and tour groups for sunset. The light catches the back of the castle, the valley cuts deepen into shadow, and the snow-capped cone of Mount Erciyes turns gold on the eastern horizon.
A handful of small cafés have set up benches and tea on the rim. Arrive 30 minutes before sunset to find a spot; in summer it gets crowded. No fee, just the cost of whatever drink you order.
