May, June, September, and early October are the best months. The weather is reliably warm, the sea is swimmable, and the worst of the crowds and high prices are avoided. May and June also overlap with the start of turtle nesting season, when the beach feels especially special.
July and August are hot — comfortably over 35°C — and busy with European package tourists. Winter is quiet; most boats and restaurants close from November through March, though the town itself is still pleasant to walk and the lake views are clear.
