Andriake

Ancient Lycian harbour of Myra, with ruins, granaries, and a strong maritime museum.

Andriake was the harbour of ancient Myra, and its ruins spread around a silted-up inlet a few kilometres from Demre. The site is quieter than the rock tombs, with Roman granaries, baths, agora remains, and harbour structures that make it easier to imagine the Lycian coast as a working maritime world.

The restored granary now houses the Museum of Lycian Civilizations, which gives the ruins proper context. Combine Andriake with Myra and the Church of St Nicholas for the clearest picture of why this small stretch of coast mattered for trade, pilgrimage, and politics.
