Getting There

By air. Elazığ Airport (EZS) has daily flights from Istanbul (90 minutes) and Ankara, mostly operated by Turkish Airlines and Pegasus. The airport is about 10 km south of the centre.

By rail. The eastbound Tatvan Mavi Tren from Ankara stops at Elazığ on its way to Lake Van — slow but scenic, around 20 hours from Ankara. The station is a short walk from the centre.

By bus. The otogar (intercity bus station) is well connected. Frequent services run to Malatya (2h), Diyarbakır (3h), Erzurum (5h) and Istanbul (overnight, 15–18 hours).

By road. The D300 connects Elazığ east–west across central Anatolia. The route from Malatya via the Karakaya Dam is one of the most scenic drives in the region.
