Yoruk Village

Preserved Ottoman-era village near Safranbolu, with timber houses and a slower rural feel.

Yoruk Village is a good way to see Safranbolu's architectural story outside the busier town centre. The village is known for traditional timber houses, cobbled lanes, and a rural atmosphere that makes the Ottoman domestic architecture feel lived-in rather than staged.

It is close enough for a short excursion from Safranbolu, but it deserves more than a photo stop. Walk slowly, look at the proportions of the houses and courtyards, and be respectful of residents. The village makes most sense after you have already seen Safranbolu's old bazaar quarter.
