The Çamlık open-air railway museum sits beside the main İzmir-Aydın line about eight kilometres south of Selçuk, in the village of Çamlık. It holds the largest collection of preserved steam locomotives in Turkey and one of the larger collections in the eastern Mediterranean — over thirty engines built between the 1880s and 1950s, from British, German, French, American, and Czech manufacturers.
The exhibits are outdoors and you can climb on most of the engines, which is the appeal for children and railway enthusiasts. It is not slick — there is little signage and almost no interpretation — but the collection is genuinely good. Combine it with a visit to Şirince if you have a car; both are off the main road south.
