Muradiye Waterfall (Muradiye Şelalesi) is on the Bendimahi River about 80 km north of Van, near the small town of Muradiye. The falls themselves are wide rather than tall — water spills over a thirty-metre lip in a long curtain — but the setting is genuinely pretty: a green river canyon set into otherwise arid uplands.
A short footbridge crosses the river just below the falls, swaying enough to make most people grip the railings. There are tea gardens, a few simple kebab restaurants, and a small picnic area on the bank. The drive up from Van through the mountains is part of the appeal; budget half a day round-trip and combine it with the Bendimahi marshes a few kilometres further on.
