Getting There

Sharjah International Airport is one of the busiest in the region and serves as the hub for Air Arabia, the UAE's low-cost carrier with extensive routes to South and Southeast Asia, Africa, and Europe. From the airport to the city centre is about 15 minutes by taxi.

Dubai International Airport is 20–25 kilometres away and has far more international connections. From Dubai airport to central Sharjah by taxi takes 30–45 minutes depending on traffic — and traffic can be very heavy on the Dubai–Sharjah highway during rush hours. There is a shared taxi (service taxi) system between Dubai and Sharjah that is cheaper than private cabs. Coming from Abu Dhabi, buses run along the coast road and take about two hours.
