The city centre is compact enough to walk, but most of the attractions are spread around the surrounding district. A hired motorbike is by far the most practical option — you can rent one in town or arrange with your guesthouse. Local xe om (motorbike taxis) are easy to find and useful for short hops.
For Thung Nai and the lake area, the last part of the journey is by boat from the pier at Thung Nai wharf. Boat hire is straightforward to arrange on arrival.
Highway 6 runs through the city and is the main artery. Traffic is manageable by Vietnamese standards — this is not a city where congestion is a serious problem.
