A fixture on Pham Ngu Lao Street in District 1, Allez Boo has been the default backpacker bar in Ho Chi Minh City for years. Open-air seating, bamboo decor, pool tables, and a crowd that skews heavily western. The drinks are somewhat overpriced by local standards, the music is predictable top-forty, and the food is serviceable rather than memorable. It's not a place you'd seek out for authenticity, but it does what it does reliably -- cold beer, a seat on the street, and an easy place to meet other travellers. Keep an eye on your belongings around the entrance.
