Ho Chi Minh City is one of the great cities for eating on the street. Phở, cơm tấm, bánh mì, and bún bò Huế are available on every corner from before dawn until well past midnight. The rule is simple: follow the crowds, sit on the plastic stools, and eat whatever is being cooked in front of you. The Vietnamese middle class has a good restaurant scene in Districts 1 and 3; the city recently earned its first Michelin-starred restaurant.
