Eating Out

Sapa has more restaurants than a town its size would normally support — decades of tourism have built up a dense hospitality scene. Quality is variable but there are some genuinely good spots, particularly for Vietnamese highland cooking: hot pots with mountain herbs and pork, grilled corn, sticky rice, and local trout raised in the cold streams of the Muong Hoa Valley. The night market stalls around the town square are the cheapest and often the most interesting option.
